Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards
History
The Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards are given to honor and commemorate the exceptional role of people in child care. The committee aims to promote and support all Australians who contribute their service to early childhood education and heed to gain excellence.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criterion of Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards includes;
-- A license from the Australian government to cater to young below 6 years of age in day-care centers, family day-care scheme, occasional care units, cr�ches, kindergartens, preschools.
-- Registration from Australian government to work beyond school hours to render services to the children of primary age.
Eligibility criteria to receive the award
1.� The rating should be ‘Excellent’, ‘Exceeding National Quality Standards’ or ‘Meeting National Quality Standards’ if the nominee has National Quality Framework (NQF) certificate
2.� If the nominee has NQF with a rating of ‘Provisional-Not Yet Assessed under the NQF’, the rating should at the least be ‘Accredited’
Note- a. People appointed as primary school teachers and/or working in a primary class do not qualify for the award
�� � � � b. People serving the NQF and possessing a rating of ‘Working towards National Quality Standards’ or ‘Significant Improvement Required’ is also not eligible
�������� c. People serving the NQF and possessing a rating of ‘Provisional-Not Yet Assessed under the NQF’ and ‘Not Accredited’ is not eligible for the award
Eligibility for nomination of Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards
Early Childhood Educator of the Year- Teacher and carers presently working first hand with children in services mentioned by the Australian government can be nominated in this category.
Early Childhood Director of the Year- People working as Centre Directors, Preschool Teachers in Charge, Family Day Care Scheme Managers/Directors can be nominated under this category of awards.
Early Childhood Service of the Year- Persons who look after the child in his/her early years provided they meet the eligibility criterion is nominated for the award.
Rising Star Award- A person aged 25 or below as on 30.04.14 presently designated as an educator, carer or director can be nominated for the award.
