History:

The University of South Australia (UniSA), a public university in South Australia was established in 1991. The South Australian Institute of Technology and Colleges of Advanced Education were merged to form UniSA. It was Hon Mike Rann MP, Minister of Employment and Further Education who introduced the legislation under which the new university got established. The annual turnover of UniSA comes around $480 million. This well equipped university assures quality research and teaching. It was the youngest Australian institution to be ranked among the top 50 universities in the 2013 ranking. USASA, formerly known as UniLife is the prominent student association at University of South Australia.

It is South Australia's largest university that hosts more than 33,000 students.

University of South Australia offers programs ranging from diploma to postgraduate level.

It is one among the state's largest employers with a workforce of more than 3000 staff.

Professor David Lloyd is the current Vice Chancellor and Dr Ian Gould, the Chancellor.

Campuses:

UniSA’s metropolitan campuses are at Adelaide (City West, City East) and at Mawson Lakes. �It also has regional campuses in Whyalla and Mount Gambier.
