Reginald Roy or Reg Grundy is born 4th August, 1923 is a famous Australian entrepreneurs, and media and television moguls.
He was born to Roy Grundy and Lillian Lees. Grundy served in the Australian Army during World War II as a non-commissioned officer before he started his career in television.
In 1947, he started his boxing and sports commentator for 2SM radio station. In 1957, invent and hosted a game show called Wheel of Fortune and in 1959 moved that show to television , starting in Channel 9. In 1960, he launched his production company Reg Grundy Organization. He produced different game shows for the Australian and across the world, before finally branching out in 1973. In 1977, he produced ABBA: The Movie with Stig Anderson and then produced many successful television soaps and games shows such as NBC Daytime game shows, Time Machine, Sale of the Century and Scrabble .Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak (1986) is an American television game show is aired by ABC and another game show Scattergories (1993) aired by NBC. Reginald Roy then started the American branch of the Reg Grundy Productions. In 1995, he sold Australian based organization to the Pearson PLC, now Fremantle Media Company.
He is married to Joy Chambers who is an Australian television actress and author and they at present live in Bermuda. In 1983, New Years Honours he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and in 2008 he was made associate of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
Grundy was awarded with PhD degree by the University of Queensland in 2004.
He was the owner of a Boudicca cruise ship and sold in 2009.
Since 1995, he has yielded to his enthusiasm and passion for nature photography. �In 2005, he published a book "The Wildlife of Reg Grundy". An exhibition of Bermuda Longtail fish by Grundy and "Longtails: The Bermuda Dream" unfold in The Rick Faries Gallery at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in 2009. He owns 29% share of Photon Group in Australia.
