The University of Canberra is placed in Bruce, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The University of Canberra is situated near the Belconnen Town Centre and is roughly 8 kilometers away from Canberra's business centre. In 2005 this university was ranked 8th position for education and training excellence among all the universities of Australia. In past days this University was known as the Canberra College of Advance Education. The Canberra College of Advance Education was established in 1967 with the target of issuing Australia with the top-level quality of undergraduate education. This college became university in 1990, and it established another campus at the South Bank of Brisbane in 2002.

The University of Canberra provides a high quality of education to local and foreign students. And it offers undergraduate and graduate courses for full time or part time students and a range of short courses for professionals. Away from high quality education, this university also provides guidance and advance programs for businesses and organizations.

The university's undergraduate courses are contained in three academic schools, those are:

1. Health, Design and Science. 2. Communication and Education. 3. Business, Law and Information sciences.

Above courses also contain biomedical science, psychology, management, nursing, communication, design, journalism, sports studies and architecture education. These undergraduate courses are open for both local and other states students, who passed the essential examinations and assessment tests. It offers these variety courses; hence it became a one of the best Graduation University in Australia. In this University some students organizes different annual events and activities, like movie presentations, outdoor sports competitions in triathlon, cycling, netball, hockey, soccer, and rugby etc.

Facilities for students and faculty:

This university has 120 Hectares area of ground, and has different facilities for students and also faculty. At the center of the university is a place called The Hub, in which students have computer stores, a post office, book shop, bank, newsagent, cafe, and chemist etc. At the side of Hub is the university bar, where students can unwind and relax.
