AIA Australia Company started its operation in Australia in 1970. AIA Australia is a part of AIA Group which is the biggest independent, publicly listed life insurance group in the world operating in Asia-Pacific region. The company was earlier known as AIG life. In June 2009 it separated from the US based company AIG and changed the name to AIA Group. In 2010, the new company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
