King Island Airlines

King Island Airlines operates under the company Matakana Nominees Pty. Ltd. Currently, the said company operates five aircrafts according to Australia Aircraft Register. King Island Airlines is a modest type of airline that flies between Moorabbin in Victoria and King Island. It is the sole airline that specializes in flights to King Island.

Destination

At present, King Island Airlines has two fleets: the Piper PA-31 Chieftain, an 8-10 corporate transport and commuter airline; and Embraer EMB110 Bandeirante, a regional airliner that has 14-18 seats. King Airlines has 12 scheduled flights per week with duration of 45 minutes per flight.

The destination of the flight is between Moorabin in Victoria and King Island. Because King Island Airline has developed a rich knowledge of the place, it has become the best airline to cater in leisure, commercial, corporate, and government flights.

Hub

King Island Airline flies from the King Island Airport found in the north-west coast of Tasmania. King Island Airport is a small-sized regional airport located in the town of Currie in King Island. This airport is owned by the King Island Council. Aside from King Island Airline, the airport serves two other airlines namely Regional Express (REX) and Sharp Airlines.

Fleet and Schedules

King Island Airlines has two types of aircrafts. Piper PA-31 Chieftain is used for corporate commute and can seat 8-10 passangers. Embraer EMB110 Bandeirante can hold from 15 to 18 passengers.

Two flights are available on weekdays from Moorabbin to King Island and vice-versa. Only one flight for each side is available on weekends. Cold storage is also available and proper facility is in place to transport goods.
